A Cherished Soul Ita O’Gara Died: A Cherished Soul

Mhara, Shannon: A cherished person who was surrounded by the warmth of her loving family slipped away peacefully in the arms of Milford Care Center, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and treasured memories. A town laments the passing of a woman whose presence brightened everyone’s life as word of her departure spreads.

Her children Jayne, Susan, and Tracey, as well as her husband Michael, are living examples of her unwavering love and fortitude. Their sons-in-law Richard, Derek, and John, as well as their grandkids Sophie, Rebecca, Adam, and Andrew all of whom possess a portion of their mother’s soul join them in their shared sorrow. Her brothers, Gerard and Donal, as well as a larger family network consisting of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a large number of nephews and nieces, are a reflection of the large family fabric she was involved in creating.

Her generosity and kindness affected many, including neighbors and a wide range of acquaintances, who will all feel the impact of her absence outside of her immediate family. One of her most amazing traits was her ability to connect with people and make them feel loved and important.

Plans have been made to honor her memory as we get ready to say goodbye. On Thursday, April 4, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., her remains will lie in state at McMahon’s Funeral Home in Shannon, giving her loved ones an opportunity to pay their condolences. She will be transferred to Ss. John and Paul’s Church, signifying her ultimate return to the community and faith that have always held a special place in her heart.

Her life will be reflected in the funeral Mass, which is set for Friday, April 5 at 12 p.m.; it will be a life well-lived, full of grace and love. The service will be streamed live online for those who are unable to attend in person, making it possible for everyone to take part in this somber farewell from anywhere in the world.

Rather than sending flowers, the family has asked that donations be sent to the Milford Care Centre. This is a heartfelt way to honor her lifelong generosity and support of the community that helped her in her last days.

We are grateful to have been a part of her journey even as we prepare to lay her to rest in Illaunmanagh Cemetery with sorrowful hearts. Her legacy includes the many lives she touched, the memories she made, and the love she shared, in addition to the family she leaves behind.

We honor her life, which was characterized by compassion, love, and an unrelenting dedication to her family and community, even as we grieve her death. May her soul continue to encourage everyone who knew her to live with the same compassion and kindness that she exemplified, and may she rest in peace.

We hug the memories close to our hearts as we bid her farewell, knowing that even though she is no longer by our sides, she will always be in our hearts.
