In the spotlight is a northeast Atlanta adult entertainment store. Tokyo Valentino is to be shut down by the city. Authorities claim the store is not doing business legally. People are acting lewdly in the store parking lot, according to the neighbors.
Tokyo Valentino Lawsuit:
Dog walker Tiffany Webb said, “We’ve, unfortunately, had to witness some of those things.” Tiffany walks her dogs daily along Cheshire Bridge Road. According to Webb, there are certain things she can’t unsee.”Explicit things are adult behavior that shouldn’t be done in public.” The adult entertainment store is situated next to Piedmont Avenue on Cheshire Bridge Road. The store’s parking lot and the empty buildings next door are the locations where neighbors claim to have witnessed people having sex.
“I prefer not to see those things when I’m just walking my dogs,” Webb stated. The City issued a cease-and-desist order in October of last year. Tokyo Valentino was charged with running an adult business without authorization. The shop is also accused of “facilitating activity of an adult nature on the premises and outside the building in plain view of residential structures.”
What does Chris Coleman Claimed?
Tokyo Valentino’s general manager and marketing director, Chris Coleman, claimed that the company is well-run. “Not, no,” Coleman responded to a question about whether individuals acted indecently on the property. In response to whether Tokyo Valentino is running an unlicensed bookstore, he said, “We are not. We have more than 25 years of business experience. Nothing is different. Coleman stated that Tokyo Valentino closely monitors events occurring on its grounds.
“We have security on duty in our lots around the clock to ensure that our patrons are secure and having a good time. It’s not taking place, “said he. “From my understanding, the company is following the letter of the law, and right now, we’re still within that lawful business.” The store’s bid to overturn the cease and desist order was unsuccessful in February when it went before the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustments. In response to a question about whether Tokyo Valentino might close, Coleman said, “I hope not.” The retailer in Fulton County court may still challenge the board’s decision. Councilman Alex Wan, representing District 6 in the legislature, declined to comment for this story on camera. In a statement, he stated that he will “continue to track this matter.”
